That means that until I get around to putting all the old entries back in by hand, I’m stuck starting from scratch.
I’ve spent most of today’s lunch hour working on getting my templates fixed up - the archives will almost work still (ie. the files are still there, it’s just a matter of linking them in.
As a result, you don’t get to hear about my weekend.
Let me know if there’s something wrong with the page (that wasn’t wrong before) I’ll do a bit of testing to see if I can get it working, but I’m kinda short on time.
No simpson’s quote today, I don’t have time to come up with one.

Too bad.. That sucks.. So, if blog didn’t keep all the data on your local drive you’d be fine? :)

Yeah, but then I have to rely on you doing backups :P
Actually it’s nice to have separate stores for the data and the website - made it relatively painless to bring the site back up. In fact, it’s already done.
Of course if I’d maintained a regular backup schedule, then I wouldn’t have this problem at all :)
Now, where was that backup utility…

Actually, at this time your data is being backed up, encrypted and stored on a remote server. Well, it should have been but my backup script has been disabled for a few weeks which I just realized..
I plan to write a script to distribute remote backups among a number of those free storage places - hell, disguise them as mp3’s and some places give you 3 gigs for mp3’s :)

This is the nice thing about having a work drive at work…backed up each and every night to tape, no worried about lost data :P

Yes, I agree. Ahem.. (shhh) I back up my important home stuff to our work backup server, encrypted of course.. Where it makes it onto tape everynight.

I heard our datacenter was a little insane, so I checked it out.. I heard its probably easier to sneak aboard the space shuttle than get into this place. Greg, coincidentally this is where your backups are stored. Well, not for long, we’re moving out of here..

Why go to all that trouble if you’re going to put windows in there… Seems to me that’s where I’d go to break in.
We’ve got a work drive here too, and most of my data is on it, just a couple of personal things weren’t there, as well as all my MP3’s :) It gets backed up to tape regularly too (don’t know how regularly, it might only be weekly…
Anyways, I’ve gotta get back to installing.
