Yesterday while I was waiting for the bus (No, not the short bus) I witnessed another reason why I love working downtown.
On the corner opposite where I was waiting, there was this guy. Not just any guy mind you, this guy was wearing a one piece snowmobile suit type of thing, and a Canadian flag around his neck like a scarf that wasn’t done up. At least I assume it was a Canadian flag, it might have just looked that way, and not actually been a Canadian flag - but I digress. Anyway, this guy was holding something small and black and rectangular, at first I thought it was a video tape, but the more I watched him, the more I became convinced that it was actually a bible. This guy was walking around, yelling something at the top of his lungs, and flailing his arms around like a motivational speaker. I couldn’t hear what he was yelling, and I almost wanted to walk closer so that I could make it out, but with the wind being the direction it was, I’d have had to move too far from the bus stop, and well, I didn’t want to have to wait for the bus any longer than I had to… After about five minutes of this activity, during which people walked by him, completely ignoring him, he wandered off around the corner, where I presume his space ship was waiting to take him back to Spatulon Delta or some other place like that. Or maybe he just saw a white van drive by and got spooked. At any rate, it was good for a couple of minutes of entertainment.
I’ve got a couple of other things to write about today, but I’ll do them up in separate posts, just because I can.
