Montreal just beat Carolina 4-1, and once again the stats don’t tell the whole story. After Montreal went up 3-0 early in the second period, Carolina was pressing, and shooting from all over. Yes, they got 46 shots, and yes Theodore played great, but I think the shot totals don’t do justice to how well the Habs played. They blocked a ton of shots, and gave Jose Theodore a good look at most of those 46 shots, and cleared the rebounds out of the front of the net.
At the same time, I’m not a big fan of the way Montreal sits back on their leads. If they’d continued playing the way they did in the first period, the game would have been a blowout.
Overall though, an entertaining game. I’m looking forward to game three from Montreal, Tuesday night.
I spent a good chunk of the weekend playing Spiderman, and have enjoyed it thus far. I haven’t finished the game off yet, though I think I’m near the end. I’m looking forward to playing the PS2 Spiderman game too, since it’s apparently better than the playstation game that I’ve been playing.
Since I’ve got two topics going in this post already, I figure I might as well make it an even three. Erin and I went furniture shopping yesterday, and actually ordered some furniture. The couch and loveseat should be arriving sometime around the end of the year(!) from Italy. We ended up getting a Natuzzi microfibre set, in a nice blue. Then, we went to a different store, and ordered a La-z-boy in a green micro-suede. The colours look good together, though I think it’ll be interesting to see how they look in the livingroom.
I also have a confession to make. When we went in to the second furniture store, looking for a recliner, we hadn’t been there long, when I spotted an electric recliner - you know, the kind with the massagers and heaters and stuff? Well, I sat down in it, mainly for a lark, to see how it felt. Well, it felt so good, and the price difference was so little, that we ordered it. I went in with no intention of getting a recliner that needs to be plugged in, and we ended up with a recliner that comes with a control pad. Hey - at least it doesn’t have a fridge built in…Though if the one with the fridge had been more comfortable, we might have gone that route too.
I’m sure that the novelty will wear off quickly, but I’m looking forward to it’s arrival in 6-8 weeks.
