I got a promotion today, so I’m now a Programmer Analyst. Nice to have a new title, nicer to have a hefty raise to go with it :) Not a half bad way to start a Monday morning.
The weekend was pretty good, though extremely tiring. I can’t imagine how tired the people who were there all week are now. The auction sale went off about as well as can be hoped, with no rain. It was a little hot, and I managed to turn the back of my neck a little bit red, but it’s not as bad a sunburn as it could have been. There were lots of interesting stories on Saturday, from people driving their trucks right through barb-wire fences (just to avoid having to walk 200 feet) to comical people refusing rides from the parking in to the sale, then complaining about having to walk so far.
I was also lucky enough to be offered a ride in a Cessna 150 by a friend of my Dad’s (and both uncles) who was kind enough to offer to take someone up to snap photos. I was glad that I had the digital camera, because I don’t think I could have gotten as good of shots if I’d been forced to look through the viewfinder. The plane has a bubble window, so I could get pictures pointing almost straight at the ground. Some of them turned out pretty nice, though I wish I’d taken a few more than I did. With that, I’ve decided to officially open my new website at pictures.nodecam.com. I haven’t posted any there as of right now, but I will post one within a couple of minutes, and try to post one a day this week (scaling back after that to once or twice a week)
Tonight is also the CFFL draft night. I’ve got a bit of a strategy for the draft, but I doubt I’ll be able to get the players that I want in the first round or two. Curse my team for being too good last year
