The CFFL draft was last night, so since I was going to be over at Jason’s place anyway, I thought I might as well return a CD that I’d borrowed from him. I’d left that particular CD at my parent’s place, so I figured that while I was over there, I’d get Bryan to help me move the radial arm saw that I got from the auction sale home. Well, I got the saw, but forgot the CD *Doh!*
The draft went well, though I managed to draft a few too many Toronto Argonauts. I don’t know how I managed that, but it worked out that the best player available for each of my picks was an Argo. Overall, my team isn’t too bad, though not as strong as last year. I didn’t expect it to be though, with the expansion and all.
I’m going to post a new picture today too, just so you know.
Simpson’s quote of the day: “Stupid Flanders. Go ahead, Marge. Have a ball. What if I came back and I was dead from not eating? They’d cry their eyes out. ‘We should have never gone to the Flanders’. Oh why did we go to the Flanders’ and leave Homer with no food?’ And I’ll be laughing, laughing from my grave, ha, ha, ha.” - Homer- 4 comments

just a quick hit here. Did you hear that the canadiens picked up Czerkawski in a trade with the isles? I dunno who the isles got, some rookie type guy from the sounds of it. Also, this is for Darren, newyorkislanders.com has a poll up asking how people thought the isles did at the draft, the choices were a)I like ‘em b)Could’ve gotten more c)Dislike them and d) Keep your head up, Darcy Tucker…
Made me giggle at least.

Arron Asham - he’s played ~120 games for the habs over the past three seasons
I think he was underused in Montreal - he had a pretty decent playoffs (when he was put in the lineup) so I expect that Milbury will be happy with his pickup. Montreal threw in a 5th round pick too.
I think it’s one of those wait and see trades, even though on the surface it seems to benefit Montreal more.

Czerkawski was pretty good with the Isle’s last year, so it should work out OK for the Habs.

Czerkawski had a fairly poor year with the isles compared to earlier on in his career. He started on the first line with Yashin, and by the end of the year he was riding the third line. I still think he’s a great player, he just didn’t have a stellar year. I am pretty dissappointed in Milbury for making the trade, although the isles had the second highest goals for last year in the east, so they can afford to lose some glamour and gain some grit.
