I’m going through one of those creative droughts, where everything funny/interesting that I write is of the “You had to be there” variety. That’s why this site has been so crappy, no really. Well, there was that whole PDA thing, but I think if I’d held off on it, I could have really milked that sucker dry. As it was, I thought of it that morning (or was it the night before), and laughed myself silly (on the inside) while coming up with other “features” for my PDA. I was only half joking though, because I do actually tend to carry a pad of sticky notes with me whenever I leave my cubicle, and it’s always within arms reach if I am actually here.
This week has been odd, since I’ve been in testing/bug squashing mode on one project, then R&D documentation reading on another one. No actual code was harmed in the making of this week’s work. Well, a little during the bug squashing stuff.
I watched both CFL games last night, and I have to say that TSN’s depth chart is pretty thin. Don’t get me wrong, the first string commentators are top notch, and never fail to provide witty intelligent insights into the game, but the second string left much to be desired. Rod Black? Give me a break. That guy should be calling local bowling tournaments under whatever rock he crawled from.
That being said though, I think too much praise was heaped on Reggie Slack and the Argos offense. They played ok, but the Argo D dominated. 24 points won’t win you many games in the CFL unless your D is playing well. Saskatchewan’s D must have had quite a night as well, since other than the 17 points off of turnovers (fumble on the 6, which led to a TD, and a fumble recovery which was run back for a TD, plus a FG in there somewhere) that game would have never seen OT. Oh well, I guess it’s back to the drawing board next week.
