So, I was browsing a messageboard that I read on occasion, and I came across a thread about using the Playstation 2 as a home theatre PC. Sounded like an interesting idea, so I read the thread. This was last week, and I bookmarked the site that sells the product, meaning to post the link here. Anyway, the product is the Qcast Tuner and it looks like it’ll be pretty neat. My only hangup is that I don’t want to run cat5 to my PS2, so hopefully an 802.11b network solution for the PS2 arrives (I’m not holding my breath) otherwise I’ll have to share my laptop’s connection with a crossover cable. That would be a bizarre hookup - PS2 -> cat5 -> laptop -> wireless card -> wireless hub -> cat5 -> wired hub -> cat5 -> linux router -> cat5 -> cablemodem just to get the console online. Dunno if it’s worth it.
The week has kind of flown by (as usual) and next weekend is the trip to Montreal (to watch the players strike) already. I think I should find out what our plans are for that trip and stuff, before I get left behind.
