Linksys to the rescue. I’ve been saying for a while now that the PS2 broadband adapter is useless to me, unless they come out with a wireless version of it. Well, from my mouth to their ears, Linksys has come out with a product that I figured was only a matter of time. It’s basically a wireless ethernet (Cat5) cable, so I will be able to buy the PS2 broadband adapter, and one of these things, and not have to run 50 feet of cabling to the livingroom. That’s awesome. When combined with the QCast thing, it might just be awesome.
No actual awesomeness is implied, and resemblance to actual awesomeness, living or dead is strictly coincidentalSimpson’s quote of the day:
Homer: “Look at these low, low prices on famous brand-name electronics!”
Bart: “Don’t be a sap dad. These are just crappy knock-offs.”
Homer: “I know a genuine ‘Panaphonics’ when I see one. And look! There’s Magnet Box and Sorny!”

I don’t get it.. So you device already has to be ethernet enabled right? You the plug the ethernet cable into the wireless bridge and it appears as if its wired to the LAN segment?
Thats what I do here.. http://syn.ish.cx/~jason/net4501/
It doesn’t have any IP addresses itself and places wireless devices on the LAN or vice-a-versa..

Jason - basically that’s what it will do, except cheaper than a full fledged bridge. My only concern is configuration of it…
What you’ve got going there is pretty neat, if a bit expensive (of course it’s just a wee bit more configurable too ;)

What I have is a prototype board we were using at eTunnels.. The goal was to shrink it down to a PCMCIA card, but we tanked instead :)
