Anyone remember Richard Garriott? He developed a game that went on to become a best selling series, and is actually still going strong (though without his involvement now…) Anyway, he’s commonly held up as one of those few success stories where one guy created a game by himself, and it was good. Well, the reason that I mention it, is because the lack of that type of game/game creator has really been seen in recent years, and some people believe that this type of effort will never really be able to create a competitive product again.
Enter Nathan Sorenson. He’s created a curling game that is apparently setting the game design world on fire. Yes, I know, there are other curling games out there, but apparently Take-out Weight Curling is going to use licensed players and all kinds of wacky things like that. Read a review if you want. I think it takes Granite that extra step. Of course it’s tough to tell without a demo available.
