The baby was kicking last night, and I could feel it. Erin was glad to finally have me confirm that she’s not crazy…It was kinda cool, and kinda strange. An interesting experience to say the least.
I mean, I’ve felt babies kick before, so it wasn’t just that. It was the fact that this is our baby kicking that made it feel different. I eventually had to take my hand off of Erin’s belly so that I could get some sleep - otherwise I’d have stayed up all night waiting for the next kick.
On a non-baby related note…I got that US Robotics wireless/wired router from NCIX - because I heard about it via Red Flag Deals it was $199, so when the $100 mail in rebate arrives it will work out to around $120 total (taxes and shipping) Not too bad, considering I paid more than twice that for the old WAP that I got back in February. Anyway, hooking it up and setting it up was pretty simple - I eliminated the need for the Linux router, the hub (which I think is malfunctioning) and the SMC 2655W. My current plan is to use the SMC unit as a wireless connection for the PS2 - I should be able to just hook it up to the network adapter and be off to the races. It’ll be fun to try anyway - the next thing is to try and track down a PS2 network adapter… Then I can pick up that Qcast thing I keep talking about, and Erin can have her music in the livingroom :P
The only problem now is - where do I put the webserver and assorted other computers? We’re planning on turning that room into the baby’s room (better do it soon, I guess) so they’re going to have to get moved somewhere. Likely to the spare room in the basement.

Pretty neat feeling ain’t it? You will continue to enjoy it, but if Erin may occasionally get annoyed by it when she is trying to sleep.
