Hapkido was fun last night. The warmup nearly killed me though. I don’t think I’ve ever done fingertip pushups before, and I haven’t done regular pushups in about 10 years (in any quantity, on a regular basis) so my shoulders and arms are pretty sore today. Really though, considering I was doing motions that I’ve never done before, I’m not very stiff. Mostly we worked on kicks, and my legs feel fine. Certainly better than they did after the first few Ultimate games of the year.
The class was relatively small - nine people in total, at least two of which were relative newcomers (one guy had been there 4 times, another guy for about two months)
There were some pretty impressive kicking skills on display by some of the more veteran students. I think it’s something that I can do, and it was pretty fun, though a good workout for someone who hasn’t done anything physical since the end of the Ultimate season (what, nearly three months ago now?)
In other news, Fahim is talking about making a BloggerAPI client based on Blog. I think this is great news, since Blog’s interface was far superior to what I’m dealing with here with b2. No offence against b2, it’s just a web page interface after all. Initially my plan was to use a BloggerAPI client to edit/post here anyway, but I couldn’t find one that works properly through the firewall here, and I kind of got used to this interface anyway. Overall, I prefer the B2 server way of doing things, but I really prefer the Blog client interface. It looks like I might get to have the best of both worlds in the very near future. Why do you care? You don’t, but that’s the way things are.

Cool….the Korean arts are excellent for kicking skillz and lower body flexibility. Good for you for going for it!
Do I remember correctly that hapkido uses weapons as well? That was one thing that we never got to do in TKD.

Mmmm…weapons….(EG)
I’m not stiff at all today, surprisingly. I figured I’d hurt like hell, but the workout last night didn’t kill me :P

re: weapons - I don’t know. Not at the lower levels anyway. The pics on their website have some “rope” type of techniques, but no swords (that I remember seeing) etc. The Saskatoon dojang is kinda small, so it would surprise me if weapons stuff came into it any time soon.
re: fat demons… Not sure what you mean by “bout time” I have only lost 20+ pounds in the past year.
re: .ram files - yup, those would be realaudio (blech) files.

I don’t think you should be upset about my comment. It seems to me that I was always the one teased about being fat in our family, not you.
