This past weekend, I flipped the TV to Movieola to watch some classic cartoons. They show old (very old) cartoons on that channel, and sometimes it’s quite interesting to watch. Anyway, the particular cartoon that was on first was “Goopy Geer” the description of which can be gotten at the Big Cartoon Database. Anyway, the main character (Goopy) kind of looked like Goofy of Disney fame. I thought that was funny, but didn’t make much of it. Goopy Geer was released in April of 1932, which is apparently a couple of months before Disney released the first cartoon with Goofy in it.
What’s my point? I don’t know that I have one.
