The weekend is over

Saturday, I played in a Cups tournament. It was a good time, though we lost out of the A side without winning a game in the playoffs (we went 3-1 in the “round robin”) I really like playing Cups. It’s not as easy as you’d think to grab a plastic beer cup out of midair in one hand, especially at the speed that they come flying off of the poles.

Not much else happened of note on the weekend though.

I was thinking about Milli Vanilli this morning. I think I was inspired by the rain. Anyway, I got “blame it on the rain” stuck in my head briefly, then got to thinking about that whole lip-synching scandal. What amazed me was that people went out and burned their cds and after finding out that Milli and Vanilli (or whatever they were called) weren’t the actual people behind the voices. The most surprising thing about it was that they went on and released an album where they actually sang (not that anyone cared anymore) but the actual voice behind their hit singles never “came out of the closet” and released an album. It’s not like Milli and Vanilli were two supermodels, so I’m not sure why they didn’t just use the actual singer(s) for the front. Just a note to save face here - I never purchased any Milli Vanilli related merchandise, and never liked their music. I’ll just add that if I found out tomorrow that the singer on Norah Jones’ album was actually a big hairy fat guy, I wouldn’t burn the CD, because I enjoy it. I might try to poke my eyes out with sharpened sticks though.
