The CFFL draft was this weekend, so I know who’s on my team this year. I didn’t get everyone I wanted, but I think I made out pretty well.
Erin and I watched three Bob Hope movies on the weekend - “The Road to Hong Kong” (1962) “Call me Bwana” (1963) and “I’ll Take Sweden” (1963). Good clean fun. The one thing that got me though, was in “The Road to Hong Kong” Bob Hope says something like “if you guys only knew how old we really are…” It got me thinking. Holy smokes, he was 59 when he made that movie. I’d have guessed maybe 45. Considering he’s 100 now and still kicking, I shouldn’t be so surprised. What’s the deal with comedians living to such a ripe old age? I mean, how old was George Burns when he died? 100. You never hear about other entertainers living to be that old. The other thing that really struck Erin and I was how much Bob Hope and Kelsey Grammer look alike.
Simpson’s quote of the day: “Oh I’ll stay away from your son alright. Stay away forever!…Oh wait. That’s no good…Oh wait! I’ve got a good one! Marge, could you say ‘Stay away from my son’ again?” - Sideshow Bob- 1 comment
