What is wrong with this picture?

I’m a strong proponent of “to each his own” - in otherwords, I don’t care what other people do, as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else in some way. I still don’t understand the attraction of Extreme Ironing though. (courtesy The Old New Thing

Why would I buy an anti-spam product from a spammer?

I think this guy actually did Axel one better

One wheel - it’s an interesting looking contraption. I think it would be fun to drive once, but then, the novelty would be over, and it would seem stupid. It kind of makes a mockery of the whole segway thing though.

The sun is setting, in the sky…

Spring seems to be here for good, or at least until it gives way to Summer. The kind of weather we’re having today makes it hard to sit inside and look out the window. It’s beautiful out there, and it’s only supposed to stay that way today, then back to the normal weather (which isn’t that bad, but not nearly as nice as today.)

Erin and I have been making a list of things that need to be done to the house this year - it’s not that long, mostly painting, and of course finishing the bathroom. The end result is that I’m going to be doing a lot of painting this year though - most of the upstairs needs painting, and the exterior is badly in need of a few coats. I don’t mind too much, but I suspect it’ll take me the better part of a month to get it all done in my spare time.

See, this time of year, I run out of interesting stuff to write about. :)

Weekend fun for everyone!

Don’t buy a floppy drive from Futureshop.

I was fixing mom and dad’s computer on the weekend, and realized that the floppy drive wasn’t working. We sent Darren out to get a new floppy drive, to Futureshop. I expected it to be a little expensive, but not 5x the price of elsewhere, which is what it was. Needless to say, we managed to work around the lack of floppy and they returned it, Mom went and bought a floppy drive from a local place that was charging a much more reasonable price.

Saturday, we left William at mom and dad’s for the late afternoon, so we could have a “date” - we rented the third Matrix movie. My review? It wasn’t as bad as I’d been led to believe. I think it’s possibly a better movie than the second one, though the second one had that awesome car chase sequence that brings it up a notch. It was a little goofy at times, and the effects weren’t all that special, but overall, it wasn’t a bad action movie.

Please refrain from commenting until further notice. It won’t work anyway.

Those of you who haven’t gotten your picks in yet, can email me.

[edit] - never mind, you can comment again. As I said in my comment though, things will be a little strange looking for a bit, until I get the styles sorted out again.

Picks

Here come the picks:

Detroit (1) vs. Calgary (6) - Detroit is getting old, and they’ve had some problems in the playoffs recently. They’re still a great team, but they’re vulnerable to young, hungry teams with hot goalies. Meanwhile, Calgary is a young, hungry team, and their goalie could be viewed as extrememly hot. If Iginla can score a goal a game, and Kiprusoff can get four shutouts, they’re going to win, yes? I pick Calgary

San Jose (2) vs. Colorado (4) - Colorado is laden with talent, and Aebischer looks like he’s a decent goalie too. BUT I’m sticking with the favorite, cause picking too many upsets gives me indigestion. I think San Jose is still not getting the respect they deserve. I pick San Jose for no reason in particular, other than to bug Avs fans

Tampa Bay (1) vs. Montreal (7) - The Habs have been streaky all year, and coming into the playoffs, they were on the wrong kind of streak. The Bruins let them hang around long enough to change their momentum, and now they’re looking sharp. Kovalev, Koivu and Zednik looked great all series, and Theodore was looking pretty comfortable in the last two games. It’s just a matter of time before Ryder starts putting the puck in the net too - he’s getting chances. I pick Montreal

Philadelphia (3) vs. Toronto (4) - If healthy, I’d pick Toronto, but they’re not, and they won’t be any time soon. This is going to be a tough series, and the winner is going to be banged up, which looks good for whoever comes out of the other series. Already missing a bunch of key players, the Leafs are going to need a miracle on the order of 4 shutouts to win the series. I don’t think it’ll happen, so I’m picking Philadelphia
