I played floor hockey on Saturday, and am just now able to walk semi-normally… I stretched before the first game, but neglected to stretch after the game, before the next two games, or even after the whole tournament was done . That’s part of the problem. The other part is the unfortunate spill that i took in warmup that resulted in me hitting the ground, knee first, at a relatively high speed. It swelled some, but not too bad, and the swelling seems to be mostly gone. I still played all the games, but I think I wound up favouring my leg some, because it’s quite sore when compared to the other one.
There really is no substitute for actually playing floor hockey though - all the cardio at the gym that I could ever want to do, couldn’t prepare me for four hours of floor hockey. My endurance wasn’t too bad, though my lungs were burning about halfway through the first game. I managed to recover nicely though, and had some pep for the last game still. For the record, we lost all four games by a total of something like 46-16. I didn’t play particularly well, but the teams we came up against had more top notch players than we did, by a large margin. We did manage to score first in three of the four games, and we were even pretty tight in the consolation game at halftime (3-2) but a couple of quick goals against, and the game got out of reach in a hurry.
Then, Bombastic arrived yesterday. Blowing up dice is pretty fun.

Playoff pick time…… these two series are the toughest to pick for me since my coin flips in the first round….. I’m gonna pick Tampa bay, based on their speed, and the slow/injured flyer defence. On the other side, San Jose is an awesome team, and I think they will win, but I am picking Calgary. I just like Iginla, he’s a class act, and fun to watch. I hope he gets a chance to play for the cup this year.

Flames and Lightning…Kipper and the Bulin wall would be an amazing matchup for the cup. That would be a final I’d be interested in watching, which is different from the last couple of years.
Go Flames Go!!
