I have a lunch hour routine, where I load up a bunch of websites, read them for a bit, then go heat up my lunch, then finish reading the websites, then I post here. Sites that I read regularly include news sites, comics, and other people’s weblogs. One thing that’s always kind of bothered me is that even though I know what the update schedule is on the comic sites, I load them all every day via a bookmark group in Mozilla(Firefox actually.)
One site in particular updates once a week, and yet I load it M-F, simply because if it weren’t in the “comics” bookmark group, I’d forget about it. It’s a little silly, I know. Anyway, I was thinking - why don’t scriptable bookmarks exist? Well, they do. I haven’t done it yet, but I think I’m going to write a bookmarklet for each of those sites, so that they only open on the days when they’re updated. I’ll keep the regular bookmark around too, just outside of the bookmark group. That way, when Thursday rolls around, I’ll have one more comic to read than every other day of the week.
