Linky

Oh what the heck. Check out the Mount St. Helens VolcanoCam

I heard it on the news.

What a game last night. I don’t think I’ve seen so many turnovers in all my life. Well, I probably have, but 6 in one half of a game is pretty bad for one team.

I guess it was just one day removed from a full moon, so nobody should be too surprised.

I find that I don’t have a lot to say on here lately. Maybe I should start digging up some links to alleviate your boredom. Not today though.

The other half is done.

We finished watching the movie (Bubba Ho-Tep) last night, and I have to say that it was a little disappointing. Elvis and JFK in a nursing home was all really well done, but the mummy bit was brutal.

It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t very good either. It had it’s moments.

Elvis eats boats.

We managed to watch another 40 minutes of the movie last night, which is pretty remarkable. We likely could have watched the whole thing, but it was getting late, so we paused it to give William a bath, and put him to bed.

Erin’s dad is coming for a visit today, so things will likely be a little busy for the next little while.

The weather has been pretty nice lately, but it’s getting pretty cold at night. It’s almost as if Summer is over. hrmph. I don’t know if I like that idea. Oh well, I’ve booked my holidays for Thanksgiving and for when we’re moving already, which means that both of those events are creeping up on us.

What a disjointed post. Sorry for the poor quality of my writing today (and every other day too - today in particular though.)

Are you ready for some?

The weekend was good, if too fast as usual. I took William to the Huskies football game on Saturday - he lasted until almost the end of the first quarter before he got bored, and I called Erin to come pick him up. He particularly liked watching the mascot walk around, and he seemed pretty interested in the cheerleaders being thrown up in the air. The game itself was pretty good, unless you were cheering for the U of M Bisons - it wasn’t even close, pretty much from the opening kickoff. It was pretty much “bombs away” for the Huskies all day, even to the point where a faked punt wound up as a 70+ yard TD run by the kicker.

I felt like watching a movie Saturday night, so we watched the first five minutes of a movie before William decided that he didn’t want to watch a movie. The DVD player was paused at 5:40 until sometime late Sunday night.

I can’t believe it’s the end of September already…

I feel like Columbo now…

One more thing… There’s a group of people trying to create a modern CFL computer game

None of the big guns gonna shoot out the lights.

The NHL labour situation continues, and some people are really bothered by it. Not me though. I half hope that the entire NHL/NHLPA collapses in on itself. It doesn’t sound like any of the new leagues that have sprung up will fill the void (at least this year,) but the lockout situation will be good for minor pro, junior and collegiate hockey.

What’s always struck me as odd is that college hockey in Canada gets so little recognition. Junior hockey produces future NHL stars I guess, but the level of hockey played in the CIAU is higher than Junior. It almost has to be, since most of the players played junior, and are now older, bigger, faster and stronger. I haven’t been to a Huskies game in a couple of years, but I’m going to try to go to more this year. It’s good hockey to watch, and it’s tough to compare the atmosphere of a packed Rutherford arena with a 3/4 empty SaskPlaceCredit Union Centre.
