One more thing… There’s a group of people trying to create a modern CFL computer game

The NHL labour situation continues, and some people are really bothered by it. Not me though. I half hope that the entire NHL/NHLPA collapses in on itself. It doesn’t sound like any of the new leagues that have sprung up will fill the void (at least this year,) but the lockout situation will be good for minor pro, junior and collegiate hockey.

What’s always struck me as odd is that college hockey in Canada gets so little recognition. Junior hockey produces future NHL stars I guess, but the level of hockey played in the CIAU is higher than Junior. It almost has to be, since most of the players played junior, and are now older, bigger, faster and stronger. I haven’t been to a Huskies game in a couple of years, but I’m going to try to go to more this year. It’s good hockey to watch, and it’s tough to compare the atmosphere of a packed Rutherford arena with a 3/4 empty SaskPlaceCredit Union Centre.
