Congratulations to the SpaceShipOne team for winning the X Prize. October 4, 2004 was an historic day.
We’re going out of town this weekend for Thanksgiving, but I’m going to try a time delayed post for Friday anyway. If you only check the site infrequently, I’d like it if people could test out my time delayed post, so check back on Friday. I’ll set it to go at Noon Saskatoon time.

How close did the group in Kindersley come? After we left Saskatoon this summer we stopped in Kindersley and went out to their launch site.

They actually pushed their launch date back. There was some scare mongering by a local university prof in the papers “if it crashes, it could hit Saskatoon or Regina” type of stuff, but supposedly that didn’t have anything to do with it.
They haven’t announced a revised date yet, though they have all the insurance and permits secured apparently. I’ll make mention of it if I hear what they have planned.
