What a strange dream…

I had a very strange dream last night. Here’s what I remember of it.

I was on the roof of a house (I think it was my Aunt and Uncle’s house) and lost my balance. I grabbed the satellite dish to brace myself, and instead, pulled it off of the roof. On my way down, I thought that I had better let go of it, so that I wouldn’t rip the cables right out of it. Apparently I landed unharmed, though the dish was hanging from the edge of the roof.

This is where it gets weird. I knew that to fix the dish, I’d have to get a part from some rare electrical generator. I happened to know where the world’s last one was, so I went there to break in and steal it. When I got there, I reached for the lock to see if my wire strippers would cut it, and instead, the lock exploded in my hand, alerting the ancient Chinese protector of the electrical generator.

So this old Chinese dude with the flowing silk robe, complete with fu-man-chu and long braid, comes running up the stairs. I ran the other way, and managed to sneak into the room with the generator through an open window. I opened the box that the generator was in, only to be sprayed with water - just like those novelty flowers that clowns wear, I’d found a novelty knock-off of the electrical generator. Somehow the inflatable part that was contained within was good enough to repair the broken dish though, and then I woke up.

I know that there was something else strange in the room with the novelty generator, but I don’t remember what it was.

Wait a minute

Yesterday afternoon we had some strange weather here. The sky was dark, and it was windy, and suddenly out of the sky came this white fluffy rain. By the time I headed home for work it had stopped, but the sky had something else in store for me. I work on the 9th floor of an office building, and my view is unimpeded by taller buildings, so I have a good view of the sky. Most of the sky was black with clouds, but there was this one stripe just above the horizon that was blue. It stretched for the entire view from my office, which is probably 120 degrees or so. There were clouds, then this stripe of blue sky, then more dark clouds just above the horizon. It would have made a pretty cool picture - especially since it wasn’t really visible from the ground. alas, I don’t carry a camera with me.
