It’s been a while. I know it’s been a while. Sorry about that. Friday I took the afternoon off, and we got the keys to the new house. We moved a vanload of stuff over that night, and everything was looking rosy. Friday night, we went to Mom & Dad’s for supper, and on the way out the door to their place, I whacked my elbow on the corner of a door jamb. Hard. I couldn’t really use my right arm without a lot of pain for the rest of the night. I didn’t sleep well, because every time I moved, I’d bump my arm, and wake up. It was better Saturday, but still painful.
We managed to get everything packed up and moved to the new house before the deadline of noon yesterday, but now the new house is full of boxes. I’m hoping to be able to unpack a bunch of them tonight, and this weekend, with a target of having everything unpacked and put away before Christmas. Everything. It’s a goal. Something to work toward. We’ll see how we do with it.
William has done really really well with the move. He’s settled into the new house as fast as Erin or I could have ever hoped. On Monday, when the movers were loading stuff at the old house, I took William to the new house, and we hung out and played with his toys, and read his books. He really seemed to enjoy the day, which was good. We had to take out a railing and wall in order to get everything moved to where it belongs, but overall, it wasn’t too bad, and having movers was worth every single solitary penny. The guys from Geransky’s were great, and they came in about 15 minutes more than they estimated, which was pretty good. I highly recommend them.
So, other than that, not much new with us :)
