Right back where we started

Last night we took William to my parents’ place so that we could get some industrial sized work done around the house. The plan was to rearrange the furniture in our bedroom, to allow us to bring in a single bed for William, to slowly migrate him to his own bed/room. I got the dressers moved away from the wall where we planned on moving the bed to, only to find that due to the placement of the plugins/cold air return vent, we couldn’t put the bed there. We played with a bunch of different configurations, and ultimately wound up putting the dressers right back where they started. The only change is that the crib has been moved to the other side of the bed, and there’s now a single bed a couple of feet from our bed, so William can get used to it. That meant that Erin and I switched sides of the bed, which was a little strange last night, since we’ve been sleeping on the same sides of the bed for quite a while. We’ll get used to it though.

It felt a little like we got nothing accomplished, since everything is almost back where it started, but I guess it was a learning experience. We also got a couple of boxes unpacked, which was good.
