So, it’s been an eventful few weeks. As mentioned previously, Erin and I had a baby girl on March 26th. Julia is doing fine, and will likely be in the hospital for at least another month (though that’s just a guess - they can’t tell us when we’ll get to take her home until a lot closer to when it will happen.) In the meantime, I got to spend some quality time with Erin and William while I took three weeks off. After chasing William around for the past three weeks, it’s good to be back at work ;)
William really likes being outdoors, and so the new house is paying dividends in that respect. We spent some time outside raking the leaves in the backyard, and generally playing around back there. He likes to hide in the shed and play with the broom that’s out there. Last night, while the burgers were cooking on the BBQ, we spent some time in the garden, loosening the soil. The garden tool that we got at Grandpa Mitchell’s auction sale (billed as a “rod weeder” but clearly not what google thinks a rod weeder is) was fun to use to loosen it up a little. There’s only one small problem - now that we have a backyard, it’s not completely fenced. When William was left to his own devices out there for a few minutes, he ran around the house and rang the front doorbell. We’re getting the rest of the yard fenced next week hopefully.
In electronic gadget news…I finally got the XBox MythTV frontend working. It actually wasn’t too hard to do once I was pointed in the right direction. I even did it twice, after it kind of died the first time due to a minor crash that left the filesystem in rough shape. It’s pretty sweet, and the end result is that the 5100 PVR has been retired temporarily(!) in favour of the MythTV box.
Not that much new with me, but check out William and Julia’s sites for updates on them, and new pictures and stuff.
