Settled into a rhythm?

Over the past five weeks, things have been kind of crazy around our house. If we’re not going to the hospital, we’ve just gotten back from the hospital, or we’re thinking about the hospital, or whatever. That’s not to say that we’re up there all the time - I usually only make it up there once a day, but Erin is there several times a day to feed Julia. In general, things are going really well, and Julia is holding steady with her growth. In fact, other than the fact that she’d in an isolette and hooked up to heart/oxygen saturation/respiration monitors, she’s doing the things that newborns do.

The only problem is that she’s still in the hospital ;)

The start of a new month means there is a new doctor in the NICU, so it will be interesting to see what the new doctor thinks about Julia’s progress. To this point, the expected “two steps forward, one step back” has seemed a lot more like “two steps forward, one step forward, stop, two steps forward” etc. Maybe that’s just the optimist in me trying to get out though.

I watched parts of the Heads up Poker thing on the weekend, and it was pretty much what I expected out of NBC - they really break up the flow of the game by jumping back and forth from table to table. Granted, it’s still the first round, so there is a lot of poker to cover, and they are severely time limited. I’m under no illusions that other televised poker shows every single hand, but I think that sticking with a single table for more than a few hands in a row would be a good thing. As it stands, it just feels more like a highlights show along the lines of Sportscentre than coverage of the event.
