Ball was ok last night - I went 2-4 with a double and a single, couldn’t manage to drive in any runs though. I was kicking myself after our second game, because I was pitching, and overthrew the first baseman on a crucial play early - they wound up hitting a walk off two-out home run to win the game (instead of a tie if I’d made that play.) We all miss plays, but that one hurt because it was mostly due to being blinded by the sun - I couldn’t see where I was throwing the ball at all because the sun was right behind the first baseman’s head (I think.) Still no excuse. The team we played wasn’t as much fun to play against as some others that we’ve run into though, which is too bad. I don’t mind losing if we’re at least having fun out there, but there wasn’t much camaraderie out there with the other team in either game (our win or theirs.)
So that was last night.
Erin tells me that the projector lamp arrived this morning, so I should be able to get it installed tonight and have it up and running for the football game if I so desire. William was watching the zamboni at the rink last night, and seemed interested in the hockey that was being played on the various rinks at various times (the title of this post is a William quote, referring to the goalie who was wearing a yellow jersey on one team.) So, he’s well on his way to watching “the game” with his dad. :)
Funny side note - I spell check my posts (usually) and the only word that was tagged as misspelled was “zamboni.” I should mention that I use a Canadian spelling dictionary, so it seems odd that it would be missing.
