Erin was out turning the compost last night when she ran into a wasp nest. She came running up to the house, yelling to close the door. She had wasps in her hair, and swarming around her. It wasn’t a good situation. After some brief thought, I came outside and turned the hose on her, which got rid of the wasps, despite the cold water. I got stung once on one of my knuckles, and Erin got stung a half dozen times or so (mostly on the scalp) Neither of us had a particularly bad reaction though, and we’re both just fine. The nest is still sitting on the compost pile though - we’ll have to deal with it, but last night wasn’t the time.
After that excitement, I took William for a brief bike ride to the park. We’d been talking about it before the wasp excitement, and he was looking forward to it. By the time we got things settled after the wasps though, it was getting dark out. We went anyway, and William went down the slide a few times before we decided to call it a night.
