The ball tournament wasn’t cancelled until after our first game of the day (which was quite a game - we won 28-27 in extra innings) which was more than enough time for me to tear up my knee. I hit the ball hard at the third baseman(? might have been the shortstop) and ran as fast as I’m able, knowing he’d have troubles fielding it. As I was running toward first, the first baseman lunged toward me, indicating that the ball was wild, and it didn’t look like he was going to catch it. In a brief instant, I decided to attempt to avoid the fielder, and duck out of the way of a potentially braining ball, and my left knee buckled. Sideways. I heard a loud pop. It wasn’t a good scene.
So, I went to the mediclinic, and got x-rayed and all that good stuff. The doctor there said he couldn’t really tell much, because of all the swelling and general pain. He thinks it’s a cartilage problem, and I’m hoping he’s right.
So anyway, I’m on crutches, and Erin now has three babies to look after (though at least two of us aren’t mobile, and are unlikely to attempt making scrambled eggs on the kitchen floor.) It’s actually feeling a little better today than it was yesterday - hopefully it continues to improve. I’m on crutches, and don’t move around much at all.
The ball windup was Saturday night, as well as the Rider game, so we went to Jason and Amy’s for that. It was good times all around. I wound up winning the poker tournament (embarrassingly, because I managed to bleed off most of my chips before tripling up, doubling up and nearly doubling up again in the span of four hands) I went all-in for 360 with 9-6 suited when I was the big blind, and got two callers. The flop came Q-9-4 or something, and the other two players bet it big, resulting in the next smallest stack being all-in. I figured I was done, but they both flipped up King high, and my nines held up. Next hand I pushed all-in and got called - I had the best hand (AJ vs Q9 iirc), but had to draw out on the river to beat his pair of 9’s. That eliminated the previous big stack, who’d just lost something like half the chips at the table. Next hand of note, I raised to 1200 with A5♠ and the second biggest stack moved all-in with K6♠. I called, thinking he was trying a steal, and my hand held up again. Next thing you know, I’ve got most of the chips, and I’m heads up. I limped with 67o, and when a 9 and 5 hit the flop, stuck around for a very small bet to see if I could spike the gutshot. Sure enough, an 8 came on the turn, and we finished the game right there. (The other guy had J6o as it turned out.) I was really just playing fast and loose because my ride was leaving, and I didn’t think I had much of a shot, then I kept getting chips ;)
Yesterday was fairly quiet - since I couldn’t really get out of my chair very often. I feel pretty bad at all the extra work I’ve dumped on Erin, with not being able to chase William or calm Julia by walking her around.

I was a betting man, and I was betting that I’d win. That turned out real well :P At least I came close to the royal flush. The only big hand I won, I had QKs, and a J7 came up on the flop. Got the 10 on the turn. Only needed an A to get the royal. Still won the hand, though. Then I got absolutely nothing for the rest of the night :P
