2K6? OK sticks.

We picked up NHL 2K6 and a wireless controller last night, so when Erin took William upstairs to bed, I played some hockey. Overall it’s a pretty good game, though it’s lacking some polish in spots. I didn’t have room on my memory card to save my game, so I didn’t spend any time with franchise mode or starting up big tournaments or anything. I played three or four games, to get a feel for it, and I can say that I like it. There is an awful lot of game there for $30.

The unfortunate thing is that William didn’t go to sleep until very late, so I’m running on less than 5 hours of sleep — not a good thing. Fortunately my knee is improving by leaps and bounds. Well, maybe not leaps and bounds, because that sounds like it would hurt. Let’s just say that I can see me throwing away my crutches like some shill at a faith healing convention within a week (very conservative estimate based on past improvement.)

One neat thing was that the wireless PS2 controller interacted with the XBox wireless receiver - we’ll see how far the controllers are substitutable tonight maybe - I like the XBox controller more than the PS2 one.
