Hunker down

The winter siege continues. It’s not actually that cold out, but after having been spoilt with nice weather for so long this year, it feels like we’ll never warm up again. We went to Jim & Judy’s last night - we haven’t been there in a very long time, so it was good to get a chance to visit with the Smith-Jones’. William was his usual handful, and we headed home relatively early with not much damage done ;) Ok, so really there were no casualties. Julia continues to be a charmer. Last night she ate some yam. Trace amounts. Really not more than a few little mushes.

December has come upon us, and I for one am unprepared for the Christmas onslaught. Between the metric tonne of flyers in our mailbox daily and the carols over the muzak system at work…It’s quite a bit of overkill. Last year, Erin had her wooden advent calendar set out, and every day, William wanted to open all the doors. It was a bit of a battle. Last year he wasn’t quite two yet though…This year, Erin bought a chocolate advent calendar. William found it in the groceries, and has wanted to open it up ever since. I don’t think he even knows that there’s chocolate in it, so watch out. If I don’t post here tomorrow, you’ll know that he sent me to the hospital because I wouldn’t let him open all the doors. (Just kidding)
