Erin and I are catching up on Lost finally - we’re only back a couple of episodes, which is pretty remarkable when you consider the backlog that we’d built up between the move and Julia’s birth. We just watched the one where the tail section people first arrive at the main camp last night. I’m starting to feel a little frustration with the show, because it is so contrived to drag mysteries out - for every thing that gets revealed, three more questions are asked. Since I’ve said in the past that I’m not a fan of the season ending cliffhanger, you can imagine that I am starting to get disillusioned with it a bit. It is better to have multiple cliffhangers during the season than to only have one at the end of the season though - I’ll give them that. It would be nice if every now and then they actually wrapped something with some substance up at least a little bit.
That last episode had me thinking a bit though. They set “Shannon” up to be a sympathetic character - how could her stepmother be so callous as to take away her trust fund - but in reality, I didn’t feel much sympathy for her. Oh boo hoo, now she’ll have to make it on her own. It’s a bit like the Lois Lane thing - what does she really bring to the relationship? If Clark Kent had half a brain, he’d have moved on ages ago - to quote the Northern Pikes: “She ain’t pretty, she just looks that way.”
Now I’ve stuck a Northern Pikes song in your head (if you’ve ever heard it before…)

I’m actually finding this seasons Lost to be a little boring compared to last years…
