With all the rain on Saturday, we had an invasion of water in the basement again. :( I checked on it at noon, and everything was bone dry still, but then by the time Erin went downstairs for some apples, we had a lake on our hands. More shop-vac shenanigans ensued.

Just before Erin discovered the water, I embarked on an upgrade to the MythTV system. I wasn’t planning on taking any chances with screwing it up, so I waited until this past weekend to attempt anything. Much to my chagrin, I was part way through the upgrade when Erin’s yell came up the stairs, and I was forced to abandon the task. Thankfully, once we got the water under control, the upgrade went smoothly, and everything is working as well as before, with a few new features. It’s been over a year since the last upgrade, so it was overdue. I just wish I hadn’t had to interrupt the process in mid-upgrade to vacuum up puddles.
