The coldest blanket of all

Just as the door closed this morning, I realized that I’d forgotten to put on my mitts. The door was locked, and I thought that if I spent the time to unlock it and get my mitts, I might miss the bus. So I went without. It was -22 or so this morning. Anyway, I got about a half block before I saw someone stuck in the snowbank and offered to help push them out. The passenger got out, and we rocked the car out in a hurry - maybe 30-45 seconds total. I didn’t miss my bus.

Sure would have appreciated wearing my mitts for the task though.

The fridge is still on the fritz, and it doesn’t sound likely that it’ll get fixed this week, with the statutory holiday and all. Next week I guess.

I’m hoping that it will warm up enough on the weekend for us to build some snow-people in the backyard. William wanted me to go out with him right after work, but I had to shovel the driveway instead. We got a lot of snow yesterday, and it looks like it’s here to stay. We don’t have any big plans for the long weekend, but we might do some furniture shopping tomorrow. The current plan is to move our “living” space into the “living” room from the den. We need lamps for that to be possible though.
