I doubt it, though I think he probably should get a game. Too tough to prove intent on a shot like that - in theory he could have been trying to dump it into the corner.

It's one of those things that's so stupid that it's tough to assign intent to it.

Insurance is putting in a new one because of the water main break. I'm a bit shocked, but apparently the concrete is trashed from the bottom up badly enough that it needs replacing.

1998-99 Dallas Stars, Mike Modano as the captain would be my guess (before I look up the answer, that is). And the goal should not have counted. Yet another reason to hate Brett Hull.

Looked it up...it was Darian Hatcher who was the captain that year. There were two more years where a non-Canadian was captain.

1933-34 Blackhawks, Charlie Gardiner, born in Scotland (moved to Canada at age 7)
1937-38 Blackhawks, John Gottselig, born in Russia (moved to Canada in his youth)

Here is a stat for you to chew on Darren, In every year ending in the number 7 (1997,1987,1977...), the Stanley cup has always ended up being won by a Canadian team, or the Detroit Redwings.....

To counter that, only 1 team has ever won the stanley cup with a non canadian captain.... I'll let you guess the team and the captain. I guessed the team correctly, but had a wrong captain.

and greg, why are you getting a new driveway? is the city putting one in for you because of their watermain leak?

I think it's pretty obvious that Ottawa will lose in 7 games, and the trend will continue

Vancouver lost in 7 in 1994
Calgary lost in 7 in 2004
Edmonton lost in 7 in 2006
Ottawa will lose in 7 in 2007..

As for the other canadian teams, Montreal will always win the cup, and the leafs won't have to worry because they won't make the finals.
